Certified ICF Constructor

ICF Construction
Nova Scotia

We are certified Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) constructors serving Truro and Colchester County. Discover energy-efficient, resilient home construction built for Nova Scotia's demanding climate.

What Is ICF
Construction?

Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) construction uses interlocking expanded polystyrene foam blocks as permanent formwork for reinforced concrete walls. The result is a monolithic concrete structure with continuous foam insulation on both sides.

The finished walls are considerably stronger, better insulated, and more airtight than conventional wood-frame construction, while accepting the same interior and exterior finishes you'd use on any home.

We are certified ICF constructors, meaning we have the training, hands-on experience, and technical knowledge to build ICF right. Not every builder does.

The ICF Advantage

Better Energy Efficiency

ICF walls deliver an effective R-value up to 4x higher than conventional wood framing, which can mean lower heating and cooling costs year-round.

Built for Nova Scotia's Climate

Freeze-thaw cycles, high winds, heavy snowloads. ICF structures hold up well under Maritime conditions.

Quieter, More Comfortable

The concrete and foam construction reduces sound transmission. Your home is noticeably quieter.

Airtight Building Envelope

ICF construction creates a naturally airtight envelope that improves indoor air quality and keeps drafts out.

Long-Term Value

ICF homes often command a premium on resale and can cost less to operate over their lifetime, which makes the modest upfront premium worth considering.

Fire & Pest Resistant

Concrete walls are naturally fire-resistant and impervious to the insects and rot that can compromise wood-frame structures over time.
